Status
The key feature of PSI Monitor is its web-based console,
which provides the ability to consolidate all customers
and/or locations into one central view. This provides
the ability for "at-a-glance" management segmenting
all monitored devices by type, responsibility and service
with role-based access (views).

Notifications
PSI Monitor provides the user with an effective way to implement management by exception-which allows the user to focus on specific tasks that require immediate attention. This is accomplished through a comprehensive notification system. The key elements within the
PSI Monitor
notification system include:
- Maintenance Windows: PSI Monitor has the ability
to accomodate maintenance windows. Notifications will
not be sent while a device is in a scheduled, or emergency
maintenance period.
- Notification groups: PSI Monitor has the ability
to handle different devices and/or services in a different
manner. The user chooses the devices and the services
that are to be included in a notification profile.
- Trigger flexibility: PSI Monitor allows users to
define what constitutes as a notification event. This
lets users define their own priorities within the
scope of the system.
- Escalation: Most organizations have a process for
handling incidents of escalating priority. PSI Monitor
allows users to enforce that process within the system.
- Ownership: Once an incident is created, users are
able to accept ownership of it. This allows the organization
as a whole to be more efficient with incident management.
- User-centric notifications: Business users and technical
users require different information from the system.
PSI Monitor allows the notification content to be
tuned to the type of user receiving the notification.
This allows the IT people to obtain the technical
details, and the management people to understand the
business impacts.
- Trouble ticketing systems: PSI Monitor notifications
are highly configurable and also available in XML
format. This enables seamless integration into leading
trouble ticketing systems for incident management.

Reporting The provisioning of appropriate information to all users (technical and business alike) is a key element of what
PSI Monitor
does. With two different report systems,
PSI Monitor
provides users access to the right data at the right time with its on-demand report system.
Flexibility is provided through the ability to export
most PSI Monitor reports in CSV, PDF or XML formats.
The reports can then be emailed directly from the PSI
Monitor system to business or technology users. PSI
Monitor provides more than 20 different report templates
that generate more than 200 different reports on all
aspects of the monitored devices. Key reports include:
- Availability Report
- Detailed Status Report
- Notification Sent Report
- Status Distribution Report
- Service Level Report
- Multi-metric Comparative Reports
- Multi-Device TCP Service Response Reports
- Asset Report
- Event or Generic Log Reports
- Executive Summary Reports

Generic/Event Log Integration
Many of the agent-based services, such as the log monitoring modules and process monitoring, are extremely flexible. They allow the user to monitor various applications and test for specific conditions through the use of regular expressions. Our generic log file monitor sifts through batch and appended log files and triggers notifications based on user defined criteria. Users can configure application specific variables so that most applications, including security and storage applications, can be monitored.

Remote Control
In order to provide effective outsourcing or managed
service arrangements, it is imperative for the help
desk to be able to not only diagnose problems remotely,
but also to be able to take corrective action. PSI Monitor
currently integrates with leading remote control technologies
such as VNC T and Terminal Services Advanced Client
(TSACT).

SNMP
PSI Monitor is capable of collecting data from devices
that have an SNMP V1 agent from a probe appliance deployed
within the customer infrastructure. In keeping with
Pro Systems view on usability, PSI Monitor organizes
SNMP data into 'services'. Pro Systems' professional
services team can tailor new SNMP services to suit your
service offering.

Network Discovery
