Software Updates

Occasionally we will place downloadable updates to our software in this section of our web site. Before applying an update to your software, be sure that you are running the correct version that the particular update was designed for. In addition, be sure to download the corresponding update instructions and read the instructions before applying the update. Tax Table Update - Released 02/24/09

This update contains a minor change to the tax tables for withholding related to the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, Making Work Pay Credit.

Download the Update (SYSNEW.EXE) - 02/24/09 - Click here to download - Download the file to your hard drive and double click on it to unzip the files into your program directory (C:\PCSW). Once installed, open the Computer Checkbook program and use the Utilities, System Utilities, Get Updated Tax Tables After Update to update your tables. If you need the EIC changes you will also need to do Utilities, System Utilities, Process System Data Update.

Minor W2 Program / Tax Forms Update - Released 01/23/09

This update should only be applied to programs installed with the 8.45.01 update, released on 12/22/08.

This update contains a minor change in the W-2 for the printing of figures in box 12 for codes Y, AA and BB.  Also included are changes to the signature area of the 941, 940 and 943 and the new 2009 W-4 .    After update the newest version of the 941 may be printed from the W-2 module .

Minor Year-end Update - Released 01/07/05

This update should only be applied to programs installed with the 5.94.01 update, released on 12/14/04. Please read the update instructions before applying the update.

This update provides better handling of the prior year tax information to avoid printing the wrong tax year on tax forms. Also, the calculation problem on line 6 of the regular 940 (not the 940EZ) has been corrected.
