Software Updates

Occasionally we will place downloadable updates to our software in this section of our web site. Before applying an update to your software, be sure that you are running the correct version that the particular update was designed for. In addition, be sure to download the corresponding update instructions and read the instructions before applying the update.

Released on 02/22/02 - Version 2.40.60 (Download the update below):
- Magnetic Media filing for W2s
- Magnetic Media filing for 1099s
- 941 and 941-B images for 2002

Released on 01/25/02 - Version 2.40.59 (Download the update below):
- Form 943 and 945
- Form 1096 - The "total amount reported with this form 1096" field now includes Excess Golden Parachute Payments and Gross Proceeds Paid to Attorney.
- Form 1096 - The "contact phone number" field now prints in the correct box.
- Form W2 - Federal ID number can now be entered directly into the employer information screen when producing "enter and print" W2s for walk-in clients.
- Federal Tax Tables - Payroll Check Writing - The exemption amount in the 2002 federal tax tables has been increased from $ 2,900 to $ 3,000. If you have already created your 2002 federal tax tables, you must go into the 2002 federal screen and manually change this amount. If you create your 2002 federal tax tables after loading this update, the exemption amount will be correct.

*** NOTICE: Dot Matrix Continuous Double-wide W2 Forms *** - The double-wide forms (8888-2, 8888-3, 8888-4) have a major problem that will not allow us to program the Pro Systems Client Write-Up System for DOS to use the complete double-wide forms. Therefore the right-side "Employee forms" are not usable.
Solution: Use your existing double-wide W2 (8888-x) forms to print the employer forms. When printing the double-wide forms as employer forms, you must tell the program that you are printing single-wide forms. The DOS program release you have now (01/14/02) will print these forms. If you ordered these forms from us, we are shipping you free single-wide forms for the "employee set" of forms that matches the number of parts you need (7640-3 for 3-parts or 7640-4 for 4-parts). If you also ordered envelopes for the 8888 forms (8181-1), we are also going to send you envelopes (6666-1) for the new forms. You will receive your replacement forms on Friday (01/18/02).
